Construction Death: A Reminder About the Dangers of Lifts
Lifts are preferable to scaffolding and ladders for many jobs, but they also come with their own set of dangers:
"According to Atlanta Fire Department Captain Jolyon Bundridge, the two men were on a lift about 40 feet in the air weatherproofing a building at the AMLI Old Fourth Ward apartment complex when the tires of the lift became stuck in the mud.
Bundridge said they tried to free the tires while still on the lift, and with the lift parked on an incline. Their actions caused the lift to fall over."
Make sure your employees know how to operate the machines they use safely. Two men will not make it home to their families this weekend because of a completely preventable accident.
