You probably don't need any suggestions for a New Year's resolutions.  But, here is one anyway: buy some cheap term life insurance.  Term life insurance, i.e., life insurance that has a guaranteed premium for a fixed period of time 10, 20, or even 30 years is very affordable right now.

Why?  Because the odds are in the insurance carrier's favor.  It is highly unlikely your beneficiary will ever have to collect it.  But, there is a chance your family will and in that unlikely event, there is no better way to look out for your family.  Read more

This is welcome news to annuity owners in Texas.  SB 567 amends the Texas Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Association by increasing its coverage limit for annuities from $100,000 to $250,000.  The $100,000 limit has been in effect since the law's enactment in 1973.  Read more

Well, it all depends on how much income his kids and his . . . uh, "girlfriends" will need to maintain their current lifestyle after he dies.  It will also depend on what kind of interest Charlie's beneficiaries might be able to make on the life proceeds and estimated inflation they might encounter in the coming years.

We don't do a very good job of "selling" life insurance.  Why would I admit to something like that?  We KNOW life insurance, we can tailor a life insurance to custom fit your needs.  But, we don't spend a lot of time hawking life insurance to our customers.  For the most part, our clients appreciate that.  But, it breaks my heart when they say, "I didn't know you guys sold life insurance!"
